Subjective wellbeing leads behavioral consistency regardless of any context. This raises the need to investigate the
antecedent variables of hotel employees' well-being. At this point, this study aims to investigate the relative influence
of hotel employees' uni-dimensional self-constructs on subjective well-being mediated through self-esteem. An
experimental design is applied to test five hypotheses that reflected the research questions. Five star hotels in Seoul
Metropolitan are targeted to be surveyed. A total of 167 faithful cases out of 250cases have been analyzed in this
study. Descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of variance, and structural equation modeling(SEM) are utilized.
Further, the SPSS and AMOS 7 are used to analyze the data. Results of this study indicate that hotel employees'
self-constructs are positively related to self-esteem. However, independence has a relatively higher influence on
self-esteem than relationality. At the same time, It shows that hotel employees' independence has a partially indirect
impact on subjective well-being and relationality has a partially direct impact on subjective well-being. Finally,
self-esteem has a high influence on subjective well-being. In conclusion, the findings of the study suggest that
well-being can be reached by harmony of two dimensional self-constructs through some mechanism such as
self-esteem.
